Welcome to my marine survey website.    I specialize in surveying sail and power recreational vessels.  I am fully qualified to handle your marine surveying needs, whether you are a first time buyer or an experienced boater.  In addition to pre-purchase, insurance and damage surveys, I offer consulting services for boat repair and restoration projects.  I am also available to help buyers determine what type of boat best suits their needs.  I provide a comprehensive, detailed approach to marine surveying, using ABYC, NFPA & USCG standards.  Further, I have no ties to boatyards or brokers:  I work solely for you.

I have been in the marine business since 1993 as owner of Brick Hill Woodworks, my own cabinetmaking, boat repair and restoration business.  Since 1996 I have worked closely with the Croton Sailing School to maintain & upgrade their fleet for lessons and rentals and to survey boats for possible purchase by the school.

I have been surveying professionally since 1998.  I am a member of the ABYC, a professional organization that sets voluntary standards for the marine industry. These guidelines are relied upon by banks & insurance companies. I am also a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and a U.S. Sailing-certified keelboat instructor.   

Last, I have also been a boater for over 20 years, have cruised extensively in my own vessels and I have owned & operated five vessels up to 36 ft. LOA.  Several of these vessels have been extensively restored and upgraded.
